I actually lead the Youth Worship at my Church here in Jacksonville, NC and what breaks my heart is to see concerts or conferences where the “cool” is there but the Spirit of God and and atmosphere of true worship is not cultivated. Worship is about going boldly before the Throne of God and worshipping Him in spirit and in truth. Its about touching the heart of God and communing with Him there as He breaks our hearts for what breaks His and gives us the the desires of our hearts as we delight ourselves in Him. Its such a wonderful place where we corporately enter into the presence of God. God is calling this generation, OUR generation, to holiness and to be a generation known for seeking His face. It would be a tragedy if we, in our generation, decided to trade the presence of God in worship for something aesthetically appealing. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m 21 years old and I’m down for the the lights and smoke and the music – thats awesome. My heart is that it would play it’s proper role as enhancer to true worship, and not as a substitute.
